From Orani, Bataan to SM City Grand Central: No Stopping Zel’e Wellness Center

When she is not occupied with her duties as a public servant tending to the medical and educational needs of her community, Councilor Abba Sicat of Orani, Bataan occupies herself with making people beautiful inside and out, via her aesthetic center Zel’e Wellness Center.

One of her staunch believers is Congresswoman Geraldine Roman, a popular LGBTQIA++ advocate in the country. She is the special guest for the grand opening and blessing of the third branch located at 5/F SM Grand City Central, the mall which is a stone’s throw away from LRT Monumento. The first branch of Zel’e Wellness Center was in Orani, Bataan way back June 16, 2012, with its services including lipo cavitation, radio frequency treatment, body sculpting, and laser hair removal. The second branch is in Ermita, Manila.

Councilor Abba Sicat explains herself that they focus on non-invasive treatments. In addition to the above services, they now have HIFU, which is the use of strong ultrasound waves to tighten the face. “I always go to clinics like this in Manila. So, I decided to put up my own and focus on studying aesthetics, para makita ko kkung gaano kaganda ang pwedeng maging result pa,” she said. For this SM Grand Central third branch, her business partner is Caloocan First Lady Aubrey Malapitan, who was also present during the event.

Not to be confused with the French warship, the term zèle is a French word associated with being zealous or passionate. Ms. Sicat says it is their passion to make everybody beautiful. She wants to help people age gracefully. Thus, their services are actually affordable.

Let me give you some of the basic details on their treatments using really advanced technology:

  1. Cryo Infusion – Involves pumping of liquid nitrogen in the face for a glowing effect
  2. PDT Mask – PDT stands for Photodynamic Therapy which is used to get rid of unwanted skin cells in the face like sun damaged cells which cause discoloration
  3. Geneo Facial – For those with sensitive skin, it involves the use of Geneo primer gel with a catalyst to form carbon dioxide bubbles to increade blood flow and oxygen. The finishing touches involve ultrasound and a hybrid massage.
  4. Sweatox – For people who sweat excessively, this is botox for the underarms.
  5. PRP Facial – Though it is not officially on the list of services yet, Congresswoman Geraldine Roman explained that Zel’e Wellness Center will eventually offer this service popularly known as “vampire facial” which has actually existed in first world countries for about a decade now. This involves a microneedling (super tiny needle) device to draw out a small portion of your blood to get plasma that is rich in platelets, then injecting them back. It was made popular again by Kim Kardashian when she talked about it recently and it will also give you a chance to take scary but cool “bloody” selfies after the procedure.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony started with the invited guests saying a short prayer with lit scented candles led by Father Jack Woo. Some of the special invitees present are Caloocan City’s 25th mayor Along Malapitan, Caloocan City’s Congressman Dean Asistio, outgoing Caloocan City mayor Oca Malapitan, and businesswoman Marites Tan.

Coins were scattered for good luck after the priest blessed the place with holy water. After that, a sumptous grazing table was served courtesy of Holy Graze PH.
