Loving Miss Bridgette Supporting Cast Have Fun with Bloggers

“Yun yung pinakamasayang part, yung mga chikahan, yung mga lokohan, yung mga sikreto, ayan. Yun talaga yung namimiss sa pagskuschool,” said Nikki Co, one of the cast members of the first offering of Stories from the HeartLoving Miss Bridgette.

In the wake of the pandemic, there is a clamor to bring back face-to-face classes from the DepEd. So, this is a welcome afternoon television drama to bring us some nostalgia.

Nikki plays Waxee Galang, best friend of Marcus, the lead guy played by GMA’s rising star Kelvin Miranda.

Marcus is a not so good boy and a not so good student who ends up developing feelings for his teacher, the titular role Bridgette de Leon played by Beauty Gonzalez. This is her first project as a Kapuso.

Another cast member present during the online bloggers’ conference was Polo Ravales, who plays Tristan Enriquez, the arrogant ex-husband of Bridgette.

Like Albert Martinez, who is doing another show, he is very willing to take on younger screen partners in the future, if an offer is made. His prime choice is Bianca Umali, who played his sister before. He thinks that she is really talented.

If there were two guys present, the balance was struck because two female cast members also indulged the bloggers’ questions. These were Tart Carlos, who plays Elsa Manalo, the dependable friend of Bridgette, and Julie Lee, who plays Mirriam Solano, the wife of Dr. Solano. Interestingly, like Miss Bridgette, Mirriam actually has a larger age gap when it comes to her husband.

May-December love affairs are becoming prevalent narratives in Philippines’ entertainmentscape, which is not surprising because our society is now more open to people getting together because values which transcend the physical.

In Loving Miss Bridgette, Beauty plays a guidance councilor newly-single because her marriage just got annulled. To forget about her bitter past, she goes on a vacation with her best friend.

This is where she meets Marcus, who’s exuberance and humor attracts Bridgette. They will have a summer fling which will turn out to be a problem later as she discovers Marcus is a new student at their college.

The mini-series premieres last September 13 and you can watch it at 3:25pm on GMA Afternoon Prime.
