Unleashing The Zeekr 007 GT, an Electric Vagon Geared for Global Conquest

With a focus on both the domestic and European markets, Zeekr, a Chinese electric car manufacturer, recently unveiled the 007 GT, its second station wagon. This new EV, which starts at a competitive price of about €24,500, promises a long range, strong performance, and a number of advanced features. Zeekr, a high-end brand owned by the Geely Group, is placing a significant wager on wagon appeal, particularly in light of the success of their initial model, the 001.

In China, SUVs have long been the go-to option, but Zeekr thinks its chic and useful wagons may change that. With a significant market share in China for station wagons, the Zeekr 001 has already shown itself to be a success. The new 007 GT, which is positioned as a somewhat smaller and more tech-focused choice, seeks to build on this success. It shares a base with the Zeekr 007 car and is designed in the company’s contemporary “Hidden Energy” style.

The 007 GT’s big, dynamic LED screen, which can show text and graphics, makes its front stand out. The headlights and an active air intake are located beneath this. The car’s sophisticated driver assistance functions are hinted at by the LiDAR sensor on the roof and the elegant hood’s gentle slope. It has a sporty “shooting brake” appearance due to the softly sloping roofline seen in the side profile. A rear spoiler, roof rails for more stowage, and concealed door handles are further design elements.

With dimensions of approximately 4.86 m by 1.9 m by 1.45 m and a wheelbase of 2.93 m, the 007 GT provides enough room. It is just slightly shorter than the well-liked wagon in Europe, the Audi A6 Avant e-tron. In addition, buyers have a choice of nine paint colors and can select for air suspension and a tow hook for a more comfortable ride. It has fashionable 20-inch wheels.

The Zeekr 007 GT has a ton of comfort and technology inside. The dashboard is dominated by a big 15.4-inch touchscreen, with a smaller, oval-shaped panel for the driver’s information. Information is projected onto the windshield by a large augmented reality head-up display. Along with integrated 3D maps, the vehicle has a sophisticated voice assistant that can comprehend and execute more than 200 instructions. The sporty, flat-bottom steering wheel, which is a popular feature of many modern Chinese automobiles, is behind the drive selector.

In addition to a spacious storage area, cupholders, and two wireless phone chargers, the center console features tactile buttons for easy access. Even the headrest of the driver’s seat features built-in speakers for music aficionados. Tablet holders are provided for the amusement of rear passengers.

With a plush microfiber roof covering and optional red seatbelts for a sporty flair, the inside seems luxurious. A huge panoramic sunroof that can be adjusted in 10 levels lets in plenty of light while filtering nearly all harmful UV radiation. There are four different interior color options. The premium Nappa leather front seats include 14 power-adjustable positions, heating, cooling, and massaging capabilities.

The inside has 36 distinct storage spaces and an amazing 83.5% utilization rate. Even skis and other long objects can be secured with its capabilities. Up to 150 kg can be carried with the roof rack. The trunk provides an enormous 1,737 l of capacity when the rear seats are folded down. Additionally, a hidden refrigerator in the trunk floor is an option.

Two powerful Nvidia chips power the 007 GT’s 31 smart sensors, which include a LiDAR, 11 cameras, and three radar units. Advanced lane-keeping and automated emergency braking are made possible by its intelligent driving technology. In tests, the vehicle was able to dodge obstacles at high speeds and stop on its own in a murky tunnel.

Buyers have the option of selecting between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive drivetrains. One electric motor in the rear-wheel drive type generates 310 kW (416 horsepower). By adding a front motor, the all-wheel drive version increases power to 475 kW (637 horsepower), which enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.95 seconds. Additionally, it has Brembo brakes, which can stop the vehicle from 100 km/h in just 34.4 meters.

According to Chinese testing regulations, the 007 GT can travel between 585 and 825 kilometers on a single charge with any of the two battery options—a 75 kWh or a bigger 100 kWh.

Four different models of the Zeekr 007 GT are available, and their prices range from about €24,880 to €32,250, however early customers may receive a slight discount. A comprehensive guarantee is included, which includes a lifetime warranty for the electric system. Unfortunately, the new Zeekr, which will be marketed as the Zeekr 7 GT, will cost far more in Europe than it does in China.
