Unveiled: Lava Blaze 2 5G: bloatware-free Android, Ring Light, and Dimensity 6020 SoC

As promised, Lava, which debuted the Lava Blaze 2 4G in April, today launched the 5G variant in India in an online-only event. The Dimensity 6020 SoC powers the Lava Blaze 2 5G, which is available in 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB versions. With the help of a microSD card, the UFS 2.2 type storage can be expanded by up to 1TB. For that, the smartphone features a separate microSD card slot.

With the promise of two years of quarterly security updates and an Android 14 upgrade, the Lava Blaze 2 5G ships with an unadulterated, bloatware-free, “clean” version of Android 13. Additionally, it has an auto-call recording option and is anonymous.

The 6.56″ HD+ 90Hz LCD, which includes a centered punch-hole for the 8MP selfie camera and a 180Hz touch sampling rate and peak brightness of 450 nits, is the pillar of the Lava Blaze 2 5G.

A circular island with two cameras (a 50MP primary and a VGA) sits on the glass back of the Blaze 2 5G. It also has an LED flash and a circular Ring Light, which is one of its best features. The Ring Light blinks blue to indicate battery charging status, incoming call alerts, and app and function notifications. Its brightness can be changed, but not its color.

A 5,000 mAh battery that takes power at up to 18W through a USB-C connector powers the entire device. Highlights of the Lava Blaze 2 5G also include a dual-SIM 5G, 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and compatibility for Hi-Res Audio on the speaker.

Glass Lavender, Glass Black, and Glass Blue are the available colors for the Lava Blaze 2 5G. Priced at INR9,999 ($120/€113) for the 4GB/64GB model and INR10,999 ($132/€125) for the 6GB/128GB variant. In India, sales start on November 9 via Amazon.in, the retail network, and Lava’s official website.
