Oras de Peligro Launch “Burns” Darryl Yap

Oras de Peligro directed by Joel Lamangan will be shown in cinemas nationwide starting March 1, which is also the opening playdate of Darryl Yap’s Martyr or Murderer.

The director clarified that it was them who first got the said playdate. “Sinadya niyang tumapat sa akin. February 22 sila, ako talaga March 1,” Lamangan said. The

award-winning director originally applied for a February 22 playdate because of EDSA Revolution but two Filipino films already got those playdates. He got removed from

the said playdate and settled for March 1 instead. Yap then changed his playdate to March 1, Lamangan claimed.

This is what the Mano Po director felt about what allegedly Yap did: “Aba, natutuwa ako, ibig sabihin napakaimportante ko naman na tinapatan ako ng mga taga-Malacañang, ‘di

ba? Wala naman akong 1 million followers.”

Lamangan was in danger of cardiac failure as per his doctor during the shooting of the film, but he still decided to finish all the shooting dates before having his bypass

surgery, which turned out to be successful.

Cherry Pie Picache, who leads the film opposite Allen Dizon (Dario) as his wife, was more direct and called Darryl Yap a liar. She also implied that he has no conscience.

Given the chance to play former First Lady Imelda Marcos in the future, Picache said there is a chance she might accept it as long as Yap is not the director. “Depende sa

konteksto nu’ng pelikula at saka sa script,” she said.

This elicited laughter and applause from the people present during the Oras de Peligro grand media conference.

Another controversial statement of the season actress was during her solo interview after the presscon proper, where she revealed that she was able to work with a young star

who do not even know the great Lino Brocka.

Oras de Peligro will actually center on what happens to a family and a community three days before former president Ferdinand Marcos leaves Malacañang.

The rest of the cast is comprised of: Therese Malvar, Allan Paule, Mae Paner, Timothy Castillo, Alvi Siongco, Crysten Dizon, Jim Pebanco, Nanding Josef, Apollo Abraham, Marcus Madrigal, Rico Barrera, Elora Españo, and Gerald Santos. The film is rated R-13 “without cuts” by the MTRCB.
