Morissette Amon Returns to TV5 this 2022 as a Panel Member of the new Sing Galing Kids Jukebosses
It was a given that Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon and Fearless Diva Jona can relate to the contestants since they started their respective careers joining singing competitions, but TV5’s Sing Galing Kiddiecon held at Vista Mall Taguig revealed new sides to them. They are just two of the country’s established singers joining Sing Galing Kids as it premieres tomorrow, July 16, Saturday, at 6:00pm, the others being Hip-Hop Superstar Gloc-9 and Champion Diva Ethel Booba.
The event was fun-filled as it featured a variety of booths which the family can enjoy, as well as a videoke machine where you can win prizes for garnering a high score. Show Suzuki hosted the live question and answer portion where different members of the press asked the Sing Galing Jukebosses, the original Sing Masters Randy Santiago, K Brosas, and Donita Nose, Digiverse Master Zendee, lovely Junior Singtokers Tyronia Fowler and Yoyo, Arkidia Ates Queenay and Sing Galing’s Ulitimate Bida-oke grand champion Mari Mar Tua.
Come home to TV5 is a full circle for Morissette since this is where she met her present husband, David Lamar. “Matagal yan, 12 years in the making,” she exclaimed.
“Actually po, yung experience ko sa pagsi-singing contest pati sa pagttv, wala po akong napanalunan. Palagi po akong first runner-up,” she humbly shared. She admits being hurt to the point that she swore she won’t sing again. She clarifies that her parents don’t force her to continue and let her have her breating space but it is she who automatically goes back to singing in a week or so. She advices everyone to just keep moving forward if they want something and continue to trust themselves.
Ethel Booba was also asked about rejection and Donita Nose jokes before she could answer, “Walang rejection kay Ethel, injection marami.” She then went on to say that unlike Morissette, she is lucky and that every contest she has joined since she started singing at 4 years old, she has won. It was her mother who taught and encouraged her. She reveals that her contemporary was actually Josephine “Banig” Roberto, a child singing prodigy who joined Ang Bagong Kampeon in 1984 along with Regine Velasquez.
Not surprisingly, the performance that garnered millions of views on Tiktok was not Morissette’s or Jona’s, but Tyronia’s dance which got over 5 million views. However, Jona’s performance of Araw-Gabi as well as Someone to Love Me, her new song, drew raves from people regarding how “clean” the notes are. Morissette was the final performer and even though many people have been there for hours, she still had the crowd roaring with her powerful piece Akin Ka Na Lang, as well as her new song, Phoenix.
Don’t miss the premiere of Sing Galing Kids this July 16 and witness how this generation’s talented young artists bring out their vocal prowess to become the next videoke champion on TV5.
