‘Teka, Teka, Teka’ of Christi Fider is Actually a Pandemic Song

Hold your Christian and Catholic skirts, this song is actually not about celibacy or abstaining from intimacy outside of marriage. Rather, it talks about social distancing between people with close relationships.

Christi Fider is a 20-year-old history graduate from UST. She was active in her student council and is a self-taught musician, even learning how to play the ukulele and guitar by herself. The playful song under Star Music is composed by film and concert director Joven Tan.

Even though some people tell her she reminds them of Moira dela Torre, her music influences are actually Eraserheads, Sugarfree, and Reese Lansangan. She did some LANY covers, too.

Her feel-good song is starting to gain  traction on Twitter as Hashtag Zeus Collins made a dance out of it.

Her mom, Edith Fider of Saranggola Media Productions, wanted her to finish her studies first before entering show business. There was a point where Christi thought about taking up law but eventually, after getting her degree, she told her mom that performing is really what she wants to do.

She got music lessons from The Company‘s Moy Ortiz and Annie Quintos. She’s also part of an acting workshop under Ogie Diaz and was part of some miniseries produced under the now defunct Adober Studios

Although she looks like an anime waifu or a Kpop idol, Christi has had no boyfriend since birth and is currently single.

People are starting to call her the Bubble Gum Pop Princess and her fans are called ChristiNation.

Her single Teka, Teka, Teka is available on Youtube, Spotify, iTunes, and Deezer.

Here are some of her video interviews:
