MTRCB reviews over 100,000 materials in first half of 2025

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) rated and classified a total of 103,652 materials from January to June 2025.

This achievement reflects the Agency’s effort to ensure that all films, television programs and publicity materials meet the age-appropriate rating and classification standards.

Some 65,769 came from television programs, 36,263 TV plugs, 834 publicity materials, 490 movie trailers, 287 local and foreign films and 9 publicity materials.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio emphasized the importance of the Board’s role in creating a safe and informed viewing environment, especially for younger audiences.

“We remain fully committed to our mission of protecting viewers by using age-appropriate rating and classification,” said Sotto-Antonio. “Through this, we can help parents and supervising adults in making informed viewing choices, especially for children.”

Sotto-Antonio also lauded the dedication and hard work of the Board Members and staff who continue to perform their duties with integrity.
