A New Direction for Las Piñas! Majority of Councilors Back Carlo Aguilar for Mayor
LAS PIÑAS – A major shake-up in the city’s political landscape! Eight out of 12 city councilors of Las Piñas have officially declared their support for Carlo Aguilar’s mayoral bid in the upcoming May 12 elections.
Political experts are calling this a game-changer, as the majority of the city council has now aligned with Carlo Aguilar, a former No. 1 councilor of Las Piñas.
According to councilors from both districts, it is time for stronger and more dynamic leadership. In a meeting, they formally announced their endorsement of Aguilar, motivated by a shared vision of real change and a government that prioritizes the needs of its people.
“We feel that it’s time for a new direction in Las Piñas,” said Councilor Louie Bustamante, who is also running for vice mayor. “We need a leader with fresh ideas and a more hands-on approach to governance,” he added.
Councilor Ruben Ramos agreed, saying that the current Vice Mayor, April Aguilar—who is now running for mayor—has failed to demonstrate strong leadership. “Las Piñas deserves a leader with conviction, integrity, and a genuine commitment to good governance. I believe Carlo Aguilar is the right person for the job,” Ramos stated.
A leader who cares for the people
Meanwhile, Councilor Jess Bustamante highlighted Aguilar’s dedication to social programs and his compassion for underserved sectors. “We need a leader who listens. As a councilor, I have seen Carlo’s plans to expand social programs and assist our less fortunate residents. It’s time for a change!”
With the majority of the city council now backing him, Aguilar’s campaign has gained significant momentum. He expressed deep gratitude for the councilors’ support.
“I am honored to have the support of our councilors. Together, we will build a Las Piñas that is inclusive, progressive, and truly responsive to the needs of every resident!” Aguilar declared.
