Mary Joy Apostol of ‘Saving Grace’ is a Bright-eyed Ingenue in ‘The Last 12 Days’
Known for her breakthrough role in Birdshot, Mary Joy Apostol stars in the final part of the hit romantic comedy film trilogy produced by Blade Entertainment. This was her first time to have Artista Academy runner-up Akihiro Blanco as her onscreen partner, but they sure do have good chemistry together.
This third installment explores the challenges couple Camille and Daniel face as they try to be independent and build a life together. However, aside from the unexpected reaction of Camille’s mom, Daniel comes down with a sudden illness that might ruin their chance at a happy ending.
Akihiro shared that he did not have second thoughts about signing up for this project because he likes working with “Majoy”. “Siguro, yun din po yung magic kapag gumagawa po kayo ng film. Kailangan talaga yung closeness n’yo sa isa’t-isa solid,” said the Japanese-Filipino actor who worked with his leading lady prior in MMK.
“Sa chemistry namin, alam namin yung inagawa namin and gusto namin yung ginagawa namin kaya siguro nagwowowork,” shared Majoy. She also disclosed that their collaborative to the point that before each take, they make sure that they are on the same page. This third installment is where the two finally get their first onscreen kiss.
An interesting coincidence is that the two are playing antagonists it their respective series, Majoy is in Saving Grace while Aki is in Chasing in the Wild.
This project is the directorial debut of CJ Santos, who’s known to a wider audience via his online persona Jack Logan. The Last 12 Days is currently available via the streaming platform Viva One but it will be also be available for free starting February 2025 on the Blade Auto Center official Youtube channel.
Other cast member include Hasna Cabral, Imy Sebastian, Xander Pineda, Nel Estuya, Mabel Reyes, Dovee Park, and Andres Balano.
