Kim Chiu Awes Billease Executives
The popularity of Kim Chiu thanks to her regular hosting tint at ‘It’s Showtime’ as well as her anti-hero protagonist turn in ‘Linlang’ has led to many brand deals left and right, some with her current “love team partner” Paulo Avelino.
Her newest endorsement is with Billease. She is the first brand ambassador of the fintech company and will be so until the year 2025. The premier BNPL (buy now, pay later) and consumer finance app held its media conference last June 18 at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.
Chief Financial Officer of BillEase Garret Go presented the company’s main product, a handy credit line that works similarly to an e-wallet but doesn’t require a down payment. “Once customers sign up, they receive a credit limit, allowing them to make purchases at more than 10,000 partner merchants online and in offline stores,” Go explained. He emphasized BillEase’s commitment to affordability, transparency, and efficiency, highlighting services such as mobile top-ups, bill payments, and cash loans—many available without interest or fees.
Go emphasized the platform’s 99% automation rate, ensuring rapid access to funds when customers need it most. “We launched BillEase in 2017 with a clear vision: to broaden financial options that cater to our customers’ needs. By leveraging machine learning and AI, we operate more efficiently and offer affordable financial solutions without hassle,” he added.
Head of Merchant Products Kurt Molina talked about the benefits of utilizing BillEase when using QRPH, which is accepted at 600,000 stores across the country. Molina further extended BillEase’s inventive lineup by making hints about an intriguing new offering. “This partnership highlights BillEase’s mission to make online shopping and bill payments more accessible through flexible payment options,” Fernandez stated. “We envision building financial services that highlight responsible shopping and enable consumers.”
As Chief Marketing Officer Jose Fernandez introduced Kim Chiu as BillEase’s newest brand ambassador, the meeting came to a climax. “This partnership highlights BillEase’s mission to make online shopping and bill payments more accessible through flexible payment options,” Fernandez stated. “We envision building financial services that highlight responsible shopping and enable consumers.” The formal contract signing that welcomed Kim Chiu into the BillEase family marked the end of the celebration. Chiu is expected to spread the company’s ethos of accessibility and financial empowerment as the new face of BillEase.
Even though Fernandez revealed that Kim was indeed the first choice when they were brainstorming the ambassadorship, he shared that Nadine Lustre and Maris Racal’s names also came up. However, what clinched the deal was meeting her in person. “After we met her once, we were completely sure that this is the perfect match. That’s why we chose her,” he said.
The Spanish mestizo marketing officer revealed how shocked he was upon meeting her because for him, when watching a person television, “you don’t see the soul of a person”. Kim, he attests, is more beautiful in person, and describes her as fun, kind, easy to talk with, doesn’t have an air of superiority, and is collaborative like the rest of the Billease family.
Of course, as an icing on the cake, entertainment reporters can’t help but get sound bites from kim Chiu regarding her current views about love. “Installment lang ang pagbigay natin ng love. Hindi ‘yung buo,” she said.
