Meet Doc Bigs, The Youngest Filipino Graduate of the University of Liverpool

Raised by a single mom, Dr. Stephene Roy Condino, fondly known as “Doc Bigs”, has been juggling both work and studies as young as 15 years old. His efforts eventually paid off
and in 2014, he went to study at the prestigious University of Liverpool in England.

At only 30 years old, he was able to get his Doctorate from the University of Liverpool, cementing his status as its youngest graduate. This is an antonishing feat but not highly
unexpected. since he’s the youngest graduate of the Ateneo-Regis MBA Double Program at just 23 years old.

His DBA thesis focused on the “causes of the high attrition rate of non-owner middle managers in a family-owned corporation in the Philippines”.

His passion for sustainability led him to create Wodd PH, a top brand for bamboo sunglasses and watches. The business was established last August 3, 2018 in his home province
of Cebu City, Philippines. Presently, it is the number one sunglasses brand in Siargao, Boracay, Cebu, General Santos, Panglao, Coron, Baler, La Union, Balesin, and Baguio.

Wodd PH has a foldable cork case to protect the sunglasses equipped with CAT 3 polarised lenses. It can float in water and comes with durable spring hinges.

He also heads Condino and Associates Consulting Group, assisting businesses in their growth strategies. His growing conglomerate of 8 companies also Masa Inc. (Manpower for
Advertising Services Agency) and Coastal Grounds Coffee in Siargao.

Doc Bigs shares his business acumen whenever he can to his 15,000 employees of Masa Inc. all over the Philippines. “For me, business in not just about profit. It’s not just
about revenue. It’s also about sharing that with others,” he said. “Profit will come as a result of what youn love doing,” he added.

Masa Inc. works with the biggest brands in the country such as Coca-Cola, Gcash, Universal Robina, Unilab, Electrolux, and many more.

The Ateneo senior lecturer and DLSU professor is open to accepting undergraduates for supervisory positions in his companies as long as they have the experience to back it up
and are willing to undergo leadership training. “Kasi, leadership and training could be understood as a result of your experience and practice, he said.

Learning never stops for him, as he will be enrolled in the Post Doctorate Fellow Program of the University of Oxford starting in 2024.

The rising business icon does scuba diving in his free time, and is into a lot of travelling, having been to almost 100 countries. Recently, he visited Greece, Amsterdam,
Belgium, and the Netherlands.

As Doc Bigs continues to ascend the business ladder, he firmly establishes himself as a figure to watch in the Philippine corporate arena.
