Miss Grand Philippines 2023 Unveils 30 Official Candidates at Crowne Plaza
The Miss Grand Philippine Organization formally introduced its official roster of candidates on Tuesday, June 23, at the Crowne Plaza Galleria, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
Representing major cities across the country as well as some of the organization’s franchise partners, thirty candidates made the cut during two separate final screenings held weeks ago at the Promenade (Greenhills) and at The Platform Events Place, Newport World Resorts.
Despite the presence of a handful of former pageant veterans, the aspiring queens leveled the playing field during the preliminary interviews, impressing the selection panel with their poise, wit, and candor.
Miss Grand Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria beams proudly in anticipation of the candidates’ exceptional performances in the pre-pageant activities, including the Swimsuit Competition to be held at Aqua Boracay from June 21-24, and the Charity Gala at the Crowne Plaza on July 8, at the Crowne Plaza as well.
He says, “Today, we present to you a new batch of Filipina beauties who embody the ideals of the Miss Grand International Organization, and who we feel can wave our flag proudly once more in the global pageant scene.”
“Despite the controversies, I am confident that we can empower pageant fans to overlook the petty issues and focus instead on the more relevant and substantial issues that we continue to fight for.”
“We can always choose to embrace positivity in the same way that we accept each other’s unique beauty, regardless of our flaws or imperfections. It is this acceptance that enables us to transcend our ego and pride, and makes us realize how much more we can accomplish when we choose peace instead of discord, and respect instead of prejudice.”
Reigning Miss Grand Philippines 2022 Roberta Tamondong relinquishes her crown during the coronation night scheduled on July 13 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
