Filming Upuan of AQ Prime Turned Krista Miller On
Upuan, the newest movie available on AQ Prime, is directed by no other than the controversial neophyte director of Mang Kanor, Greg Colasito. Of course, it had to star an equally controversial actress in the person of Krista Miller, who’s raunchiness knew no bounds in a previous film, Bingwit.
Miller plays the role of Christina, a woman in love with another woman who returns her affection, Nessie (Nika Madrid). However, Christina chooses to obey her parents’ wishes and gets married to a man stuck in a wheelchair, Sean (Andrew Gan). Two years pass by and the two lovers gets reunited.
Miller describes her kissing scene with Madrid as “masarap”. Since the latter does not have much experience when it comes to doing daring projects such as this, she did seek guidance from the former. “Masarap palang makipaghalikan sa babae,” added Miller.
The conversation eventually led to the sexy actress admitting that she had some sort of relationship with another woman in college, which started when she offered her jacket to the lady who was feeling rather cold.
“Evey time na pinapanood ko yun, umiiyak ako,” said the director regarding the intimate scenes depicting the passion the two women have towards each other. Colasito’s research for the film involved interviewing several same sex couples and asking them what challenges they underwent in embracing their respective sexual identities, as well as the hurdles they had to overcome to have a healthy relationship.
Gan, who’s done mostly boy-next-door type of roles, explained why he’s not hesitant to accept this role which involved a daring scene. “Gusto po laging gumagawa ng bago…out of my comfort zone,” he said.
Since jealousy is an important element of the movie, the two cast members present during the Upuan pocket presscon as well as the film’s director were asked about their perspective regarding the role it plays in a relationship. All three were in agreement that it is not really something healthy for two people’s bond.
The film also stars Rob Sy, Boogie Canare, Shane Vasquez, Joyce Javier, and Juliana Victoria, with the special participation of one of the streaming app’s executives, Atty. Aldwin Alegre.
