Why Mikael Daez is the Best Host for ‘The Best Ka’

“If there’s one thing you are confident about, be confident on your ability to learn,” TV host-actor Mikael Daez tells his cousins.

Of course, when he uttered those words, he did not foresee that he’d be hosting The Best Ka, an infotainment show where clips from the Guinness World Records are shown.

The show will start airing this February 20 at 3:30pm, and can be watched every Sunday during that time.

In the first episode, his co-host will be his wife and former Miss World Megan Young.

Prior to this, he experienced hosting the Midnight Express, a 5-minute segment towards the end of Saksi in 2016, where he mostly featured food.

For him, what’s important in hosting is being able to enjoy it because the audience would feel that.

As a host of The Best Ka, his role would be to serve as a bridge between the audience and content, to hype up the show by doing roleplays as well as introducing games. He acknowledged how vital the people behind the scenes of the production are, that there are hundreds of crew members involved. “Every project that you do is always team effort,” he said.

If he got reincarnated as a Guiness World record breaker, he’d want to be Michael Jordan. He would not retire and win the most championships.

During the online media conference, he got congratulatory messages from fellow Kapuso hosts Dingdong Dantes, Drew Arellano, and Chris Tiu.

Mikael Daez, a business management graduate of Ateneo, started out as a commercial model, snagged a key role in Amaya, and eventually branched out into hosting. I should give him a pat on the back and tell him, “The Best Ka“.
