TomCar Wedding Bells Loom Over ‘To Have and to Hold’

In what seems like a twist of fate, Carla Abellana, who is about to become Mrs. Rodriguez this Saturday, if rumors are to be believed, is starring in a show about a married couple caught in a web of passion and unfaithfulness.

She stars as Erica Gatchalian alongside Max Collins (Dominique Ramirez) and Rocco Nacino (Gavin Ramirez).

Like the raunchy themed cake at her bachelorette party the other day, this GMA Telebabad series which premiered last September 27 got her going out of her comfort zone.

Almost always playing the soft-spoken damsel getting tortured by her antagonist and life’s mishaps, this is only her second time playing a morally questionable character. Her character tows the line and gets intimate with Gavin, a married man. And we all know, being a mistress in Philippine culture may be laughed about in pop culture, but these type of women are frowned upon.

In the online conference with invited bloggers, Rocco gets asked if he would consider cheating in real life. Of course, he said no. “Karma follows you around. There are consequences for the decisions that you make, he said.”

As for Carla, even though she can’t relate to the character of Erica, who she considers impulsive as opposed to her who thinks things through first, she thinks what is important is to understand the motivation of the character to play her well, even if you are polar opposites.
