Christian Bautista, Not Just a Crooner But a Valorant Player
“Masarap makakuha ng project as an artist this time,” exclaimed Christian Bautista, who has been in the industry for about 14 years, 8 of those are with GMA Artist Center.
He made the big move in 2013, initially signing a 3-year contact which he renewed again and again. It is not a surprise because since switching networks, he was able to perform in variety shows and judge singing competitions as a Kapuso.
As positive as his outlook in life may be, that does not mean he was unaffected by the COVID-19 pandemic which swept across the world. There was a time when he and his fellow artists stressed about when the world would go back to normal, since the consequence of the virus meant no live events especially for third-world countries with high transmission rates like the Philippines.
The ceremonies held around the third week of June was simple, just like Christian is. When he’s feeling down, his picker-uppers are hot espresso, cold shower, gaming, and walking outside.
Currently he is part of The Clash Season 4 as one of the mentor judges and a regular performer on All Out Sundays.
The Asia’s Romantic Balladeer is once again set to flex his theater acting chops as he will be starring in a musical series narrative titled Still with fellow Kapuso, Julie Anne San Jose. This will be exclusive to the streaming app Viu.
He will also be releasing a new album soon.
Apart from this, he is of course busy with his husband duties to his wife, Kat Ramnani, whom he married in 2018.
The bloggers’ conference online with Christian also revealed the fact that he is a proud fur dad to an orange cat.
So, what is his secret to keeping the different facets of his life in check?
“The secret sauce is a calendar. I encourage everyone to use a calendar. You will be surprised than ten of your family and friends do not use a calendar. Bangon Pilipinas. Ikalendaryo natin. Mas uunlad tayo pag gumamit tayo ng kalendaryo,” he passionately proclaimed.
Christiam can be funny so I hope that GMA Network would also try putting him in a comedy show like Bubble Gang. Here is another funny quip of his during the interview:
“”Maghanap ka ng malakas na kakampi kasi hindi ako magaling,” he unabashedly answered when asked about tips to be a better player in Valorant, an online multiplayer game he also plays.
Aside from this he also plays League of Legends: Wild Rift, Call of Duty Mobile, Call of Duty Warzone, Mobile Legends, Starcraft, and Total War.
Christian has certainly come a long way since becoming a Star in a Million finalist.
“Kung dati I would just sing whenever I’m needed, hopefully now maging mas creator ako,” he said. He wants to mold his The Clash mentees so that they would be able to face the post COVID-19 pandemic world head on.
If you want to see how he is like off screen, he has a self-titled Youtube channel where he has been sporadically posting since 2012.
