Alden’s Reality Literally Takes You Home to Alden Richards
How would you feel if an artist you really a big fan of, or at least admire, welcomes you personally in his home and talks to you as if you are a valued guest? That is the atmosphere Alden’s Reality, the first ever virtual reality concert in the Philippines, has created.
Starting off in his bedroom (no, this is not pillow talk), he chats with you, the audience member, as he changes into a different set of clothes. The best part is, you can just tilt your phone for 360° experience if you do not have a VR Headset and examine it as if you are in a video game or you were suddenly teleported there in his Nuvali home. No, you actually don’t need to complete a puzzle a la Resident evil or collect event items a la Mobile Legends to get your treat, because after about 30 minutes of talking, Alden hands it right to you.
I don’t want to spoil the order of the songs but all I can say is that he performs his iconic God Gave Me You and grooves to the tremendously popular Dynamite of BTS while singing. Viewed at default, his performances looks as if they are projected onto a virtual wall with a 1/4 screen size but if you turn your view all the way it will bring you onstage and up close with him.
Well-loved band December Avenue is the best guest of the night and day. Yes, I say night and day because there are Dec. 8 performances at 9p.m. and 11p.m., while there is an early morning show on Dec. 9.
Alden does not only gives a part of himself in the music while performing for us, he literally offers a piece of himself while engaging with us and keeping it real, and that is what we love about him.
