Happy Time of Net 25 Features Talented Singers and Fun Games
So, Net 25 has finally amped up its game and is prepared to take away the ratings from its competitor. The television network owned by Iglesia ni Cristo has a lineup of new programming that cater to different types of people.
Having an eye for fresh talent especially those from their religion is nothing new for Net 25. I have watched Letters and Music once and a while and it is pretty worthwhile, since we get to know established and up and coming singers more as well as hear renditions from them they don’t usually sing.
This habit of the network definitely came in handy with Happy Time, where every single singer that opens the show is good enough to get an Awit Award. The show is also pretty straightforward and the combination of the hosts are very interesting since this is Kitkat’s big break as she is the center of energy here.
Known as the “Prinsesa ng Happy Time” she is flanked by showbiz veterans Janno Gibbs and Anjo Yllana. Though the comedic style of the two are different, they manage to make it work by coordinating with each other. KitKat also gets to showcase her singing and dancing prowess.
This writer was fortunate enough to have taken part in one of the games. The security in the Eagle Broadcasting Network is pretty tight. You would need to undergo a rapid test or swab test, and come out negative, to be able to go beyond the front desk of the main building.
So, there are two segments devoted to the games, which comprise the longest portion of the show. I think it is just right that the show is barely 2 hours long since having a noontime show for 3 hours or more is an overkill.
The first set of guest players compete in Bawal Peyk News, where they have to actually cooperate with each other to pass the message via lip reading. Each win gives them a chance to “stop the clock” for a couple of seconds during the second half, Sana All, which is a game that is not as easy as it’s title. The team has to chose one representative to answer the 5 questions, 3 easy but tricky questions, and 2 really difficult ones that you have to be either a wide reader, a walking encyclopedia, or just truly lucky to be able to answer it. If your team manages to somehow manage get all five answers right, well, you win the jackpot, which increases every episode as long as it is not won.
The second set of guest players kind of compete against each other in PM is the Key, where there is a celebrity guest whose job is to correctly guess who “ordered” the item. The players have to do their best convince him/her by showing off their singing skills (yes Net 25 loves singing this much), wit, logical reasoning, etc. and this is a basically a game of luck since the player themselves are not really told which of them is the real buyer, so as to prevent leakage or cheating most likely, because if the celebrity guesses wrong, the players get to take home the jackpot prize.
The celebrity guests when this writer was there were Geoff Eigenmann and Ynna Asistio, the stars of the first ever television drama of Net 25, Ang Daigdig Ko’y Ikaw.
The show, which revolves around two lovers’ challenging circumstances because of the people surrounding them, was shot in its entirety in the breathtaking Las Casas of Bataan. It had its pilot yesternight, November 28, and will run for 13 episodes. One of the indie film industry’s aces, Eduardo Roy, Jr., is at the helm as its director.
There are truly ever greater things lined up for Net 25 so 2021 will even be be bigger and brighter. They are just getting started.
‘Happy Time’ can be watched everyday via Net 25 on your analog TV or digibox every 12 o’clock in the afternoon while ‘Ang Daigdig Ko’y Ikaw starts at 8 o’clock in the evening every Saturday. Both have livestreams on the Net 25 Facebook account as well as replays on its Youtube channel.
